DIY Garden Fresh Superfood Powder Recipe

DIY Garden Fresh Superfood Powder Recipe

Spend some time with me and you are sure to see (or taste) some of my homemade veggie juices, smoothies or superfood treats. People always ask about recipes, I promise to email them with details.…. then I never get around to it. Blah. I know. Bad friend. ?  I’m committed to do a better job and share some of my tips, tricks and recipes.

I make it a priority to pre-load my day with vegetables, greens, super high quality nutrition. This helps me justify treats later in the day if I KNOW I’ve already packed in a ton of good stuff early. This also helps me get focused and rip through my office work so I can get outside and play. ?   ☀️  ??

We’ve been struggling to keep up with all of the produce in our garden this season. I figured I could try making my OWN garden fresh organic green superfood powder. It turned out much better than expected!

In the same boat with your produce?

Give this a try.

  • Kale
  • Chard
  • NOTE: I just used kale and chard. You could include other vegetables and herbs; parsley, cilantro, lettuce, spinach, dandelion greens, mint

  • Tear leaves from stems
  • Wash
  • Dehydrate or place in an oven on lowest heat possible until leaves are dry and crunchy
  • Place everything in a blender (or food processor)
  • Zip around for a minute until you have a fine powder
  • Do some pushups while the blender is running ??
  • Store in airtight container
  • Add a desiccant packet to help absorb moisture **I save these from vitamins or crackers to reuse for projects like this
  • Make a quick smoothie using the leftover green powder stuck to the sides of the blender

Use your powder to sneak extra greens into your day. Try mixing with:

  • Water
  • Coconut Water
  • Juice
  • Smoothies
  • Smoothie bowls
  • Chia seed pudding
  • Sprinkle on salad
  • Mix into popsicles
  • Mix into your favorite raw food truffles

Start by using 1 teaspoon per day, increase gradually as your body adapts
